Automation Technician

Location: Limerick | Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: €40,000 – €55,000 DOE

The Role

This is a hands-on Automation Technician role supporting the build, testing, installation and commissioning of bespoke automated machinery.

Working alongside experienced Controls Engineers, you'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle from workshop build through to customer site installation.

  • Support machine build, startup and commissioning activities
  • Address and configure PLCs, HMIs, drives and control systems
  • Redline and update electrical drawings using SolidWorks
  • Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting during testing and commissioning
  • Support machine installations at customer sites
  • Carry out maintenance and modification work on automation systems
  • Work closely with senior Controls Engineers across multiple projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered to quality, safety and performance standards


The Person

This role is open to both experienced technicians and graduates looking to build a career in industrial automation.

  • Background in Automation, Electrical, Maintenance, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience with machine installation, machine build or industrial maintenance would be highly beneficial
  • Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, drives and control systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable reading and updating electrical drawings
  • SolidWorks experience is highly desirable
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when required
  • Graduates with relevant qualifications and practical experience are encouraged to apply
