THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading provider of building automation, BMS and energy management solutions, delivering projects across pharmaceutical, commercial, healthcare and industrial environments throughout Ireland.
Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join their Dublin-based team. This position offers a clear roadmap into senior leadership, making it an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to progress beyond purely technical responsibilities.
THE ROLE
The successful Commissioning Engineer will take ownership of commissioning activities across a range of complex building automation and controls projects.
Working closely with project teams, customers and site stakeholders, you will ensure systems are commissioned, tested and optimised to the highest standards while playing a key role in project delivery and client satisfaction.
This role offers significant exposure to high-value projects and the opportunity to become a future technical and operational leader within the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Commissioning BMS and building automation systems
- Testing, fault-finding and optimising control systems
- Reviewing project specifications, drawings and sequences of operation
- Supporting project delivery from installation through to final handover
- Performing integrated system testing and validation activities
- Troubleshooting software, controls and field device issues
- Working closely with project managers, clients and subcontractors
- Providing technical support throughout project lifecycles
- Preparing commissioning documentation and reports
- Attending client meetings and site progress reviews
- Supporting continuous improvement and engineering best practice initiatives
- Acting as a technical mentor to junior engineers as experience develops
THE PERSON
We are looking to speak with candidates who have experience within commissioning, building management systems, controls, automation, HVAC controls or building services environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong commissioning experience within BMS, controls or automation systems
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience working on large-scale construction or building services projects
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building controls
- Ability to work independently and manage commissioning activities
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills
- Strong technical and analytical abilities
- Leadership potential and desire to progress into management
- Full clean driving licence
