THE COMPANY:
Our client is a well-established mechanical engineering and manufacturing business operating throughout Ireland. Having built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions, they continue to grow their operations and invest in both their people and facilities.
Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join their workshop team in Mallow.
THE ROLE:
The successful Metal Fabricator will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling a variety of steel and metal components to engineering specifications.
Working as part of a skilled workshop team, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Fabricating steel and metal components from engineering drawings
- Cutting, shaping, assembling and finishing materials
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and fabrication specifications
- Operating workshop equipment including brake press, guillotine, bandsaws and drilling machines
- Using sectional and plate rolling equipment
- Working with overhead cranes and material handling equipment
- Carrying out MIG and TIG welding activities
- Ensuring all work meets required quality standards
- Working closely with welders, fitters and engineering personnel
- Maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment
- Supporting installation activities when required
THE PERSON:
We are looking to speak with candidates who have experience within fabrication, mechanical engineering, manufacturing or industrial workshop environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Metal Fabrication trade qualification or related engineering qualification
- Previous fabrication experience within an engineering or industrial environment
- MIG and TIG welding experience
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques and workshop practices
- Experience operating fabrication machinery and workshop equipment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Forklift certification would be advantageous
