THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-established supplier of packaging machinery and automation solutions, supporting customers across food production, manufacturing and industrial sectors throughout Ireland.
Having built a strong reputation for technical expertise and customer service, they continue to grow their market presence and are now seeking a Field Service Engineer to strengthen their engineering team.
THE ROLE
The successful Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of packaging machinery across Ireland.
This role will combine workshop-based engineering work with customer-site visits, offering excellent variety and exposure to a broad range of packaging and production equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Servicing and maintaining packaging machinery
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
- Installing and commissioning new equipment
- Carrying out preventative maintenance activities
- Troubleshooting machine breakdowns and minimising downtime
- Supporting customers with technical advice and operational guidance
- Completing service reports and maintenance documentation
- Assisting with factory acceptance testing and machine preparation
- Supporting workshop engineering activities when required
- Working closely with customers to ensure high levels of service delivery
- Participating in overtime and occasional overnight stays when required
THE PERSON
We are looking to speak with candidates who have experience within packaging machinery, industrial automation, food production equipment, manufacturing machinery or industrial maintenance environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with packaging machinery
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities
- Experience servicing and maintaining automated machinery
- Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience carrying out installations and commissioning activities
- Strong customer-facing communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage site activities
- Full clean driving licence
- Flexibility to travel throughout Ireland
