Field Service Engineer

THE COMPANY:

Our client is one of Ireland's leading suppliers of laboratory and industrial equipment, with a heritage stretching back centuries and a strong network of global manufacturer partnerships. They supply and service a comprehensive range of analytical, laboratory and weighing instrumentation across Ireland, and are widely regarded as a trusted partner to clients across pharmaceutical, industrial and research environments. Their after-sales service division is a core part of the business and continues to grow.

THE ROLE:

This is a permanent, field-based Field Service Engineer position covering Connacht and the Midlands, with some nationwide travel required as demand dictates. You will join an established technical service team and take responsibility for the commissioning, installation, repair, calibration and preventative maintenance of a range of analytical laboratory instrumentation.

You will also be involved in service validation and breakdown cover, working within regulated quality environments across pharmaceutical, research and industrial client sites. This is a technically demanding role that requires both independent problem-solving capability and a strong team-oriented approach.

THE PERSON:

You will hold a recognised qualification in electrical, instrumentation or mechanical engineering and have previous experience in a similar field service or technical support role. Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation and the ability to fault-find and repair complex laboratory equipment is essential.

Experience working within quality systems such as ISO or INAB, and regulatory frameworks such as FDA, HPRA or equivalent, is highly desirable. Prior exposure to chromatography, spectrophotometry, atomic absorption or TOC instrumentation is a distinct advantage.

You should be proactive, highly organised and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy in the field. Strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office are all required. A full, clean Irish driving licence is essential, and overnight stays will be required periodically.

THE PACKAGE:

  • Base Salary: €40,000 – €57,000 (DOE)
  • Bonus structure
  • Company pension
  • Healthcare & EAP
  • Income protection
  • Death in service benefit
  • Travel ticket / bike to work scheme
  • Social club and company events
  • Head office parking

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded Irish business in a technically rewarding field role, with strong team support, a comprehensive benefits package and long-term career stability.
