THE COMPANY
Our client is a specialist engineering and stainless steel fabrication company delivering high-quality solutions to customers across food production, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Fitter / Welder to join their workshop team and support the delivery of a wide range of fabrication and engineering projects.
THE ROLE
The successful Mechanical Fitter / Welder will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly and installation of stainless steel equipment and components.
Working within a busy workshop environment, you will support manufacturing activities while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Fabricating and assembling stainless steel components
- Performing TIG welding on stainless steel materials
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of equipment
- Working on bespoke engineering and fabrication projects
- Conducting quality checks on completed work
- Using workshop machinery and fabrication equipment
- Assisting with equipment installation when required
- Maintaining a safe and organised working environment
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop
THE PERSON
We are looking to speak with candidates who have experience within stainless steel fabrication, mechanical fitting, welding, manufacturing or industrial engineering environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Mechanical Fitter qualification, Metal Fabrication qualification or relevant trade background
- TIG welding experience, ideally with stainless steel
- Strong fabrication and assembly skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working in a manufacturing or workshop environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
THE PACKAGE
- Base Salary: €40,000 – €50,000 DOE

LOCATION
Ideally based in Cork, Mallow, Fermoy, Midleton, Carrigaline, Ballincollig or surrounding areas.
