THE COMPANY:
Our client is a leading provider of industrial and environmental services, operating large-scale processing and treatment facilities throughout Ireland.
Due to continued investment in plant and equipment, they are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing organisation with a strong focus on safety, engineering excellence and employee development.
THE ROLE:
The successful Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of industrial plant equipment, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
Working as part of the maintenance team, you will support both planned preventative maintenance and breakdown response activities across the facility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out preventative maintenance on plant and processing equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
- Working on pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, valves and associated plant equipment
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and minimising downtime
- Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Performing mechanical overhauls and equipment refurbishment
- Working closely with operations and engineering teams
- Completing maintenance records and documentation
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and plant reliability improvements
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures
THE PERSON:
We are looking to speak with candidates who have experience within manufacturing, heavy industry, waste processing, utilities, recycling, food production, quarrying or industrial maintenance environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Mechanical Fitter qualification or recognised mechanical trade background
- Experience in an industrial maintenance environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience working on rotating equipment and process plant
- Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems
- Strong health & safety awareness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive and proactive approach to maintenance
THE PACKAGE:
- Base Salary: €50,000 – €55,000 DOE

LOCATION:
Ideally based in Dublin, Meath, Kildare, Wicklow or surrounding Leinster locations.
