The Company

Our client is an established specialist supplier operating within the construction and building products sector. The business is currently expanding its presence in the Irish market and has ambitious plans for significant growth over the coming years.

The company provides a range of specialist construction solutions to major contractors, subcontractors, and manufacturing customers, supported by strong technical and commercial expertise.

The Role

This is a Senior Business Development Manager position focused on developing new business across the Irish construction market.

The role will be approximately 80% new business development, with responsibility for identifying target customers, developing relationships, and securing new opportunities across a large territory. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help establish and grow the company's presence in Ireland.

Customers will include Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, precast manufacturers, and specialist subcontractors, with a particular focus on the civil and formwork sectors.

The role will cover Leinster and the Midlands, with the majority of activity focused along the East Coast. It will be a hybrid position, with approximately three days per week spent on the road and two days working internally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and converting opportunities with major contractors and manufacturers.
  • Building relationships with procurement and contracts management teams.
  • Developing a strong pipeline of future project opportunities.
  • Managing the sales process from initial contact through to conversion.
  • Growing revenue across the assigned territory.
  • Identifying upcoming projects and getting involved early in the procurement process.
  • Managing existing customer relationships alongside new business development.
  • Working closely with internal teams to support customer and project requirements.

Career Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business at an exciting stage of its development in Ireland.

The successful candidate will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to play a key role in establishing and developing the company's Irish customer base.

There is already strong market traction, with an established customer portfolio and significant growth plans in place. The role offers genuine scope for someone commercially driven to make a significant impact and help build the Irish operation.

It would suit an ambitious construction sales professional who enjoys new business development and wants the opportunity to take ownership of a growing territory.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have strong external sales experience within the construction industry, ideally with exposure to Tier 1 contractors, civil engineering, formwork, or related markets.

Specific product experience is not essential, although a strong understanding of the construction sector and an established network within the industry would be highly advantageous.

  • Highly commercially driven and focused on winning new business.
  • Confident developing relationships with senior construction stakeholders.
  • Well connected within the construction industry.
  • Proactive and comfortable identifying opportunities independently.
  • A strong communicator with a consultative approach to sales.
  • Trustworthy and capable of building long-term customer relationships.
  • Energetic, resilient, and willing to operate across a large territory.
  • A genuine self-starter who enjoys building something from the ground up.

  • Company car.
  • Pension.
